Natural stone is porous. Without a sealer, it absorbs water, stains, moss, and algae. Over time, that causes discolouration, surface damage, and frost cracking in winter. A quality paving sealer prevents all of that. It penetrates the stone, seals the pores, and creates an invisible barrier against water, oil, and organic growth. You seal once and your paving stays protected for up to five years.
Sealing also makes your paving easier to clean. Dirt and moss sit on the surface rather than soaking in. A simple wash removes them without the need for harsh chemicals or pressure washing. Seal your paving after installation — and reseal every two to five years to maintain protection.
We stock a range of professional-grade sealers to suit different stone types and finishes:
Stains, algae, rust, and jointing residue are all common problems on natural stone paving. We stock targeted solutions for every one of them:

Every product in our care range suits the natural stone paving we sell. Indian sandstone, limestone, and smooth sawn stone all benefit from the right sealer and the right cleaner applied at the right time. Using products specifically formulated for natural stone protects your investment. Generic household cleaners and sealers can strip sealant, bleach colour, or damage the stone surface permanently. Our range avoids all of that.
Every care product ships free to addresses across the UK. All prices include VAT — no hidden charges at checkout. Order online or call us on 0116 380 0545 to place your order or get advice on the right product for your paving.

Wait four to six weeks after laying before applying your first sealer. This gives the mortar bed time to fully cure and allows the stone to dry out completely. Sealing too early traps moisture beneath the surface, which can cause problems with the stone’s appearance and adhesion. Once the stone is fully dry, apply your sealer on a dry day with no rain forecast for 24 hours.
Both sealers protect your natural stone paving against water, staining, and organic growth. The Ultimate Sealer preserves the natural appearance of your stone — it protects without visibly changing the colour or finish. The Colour Enhancing Sealer does the same job but also deepens and enriches the natural colour of your stone, making it look as vibrant as it did when it was first laid. Choose Ultimate Sealer for a natural, understated look. Choose Colour Enhancing Sealer if you want your paving to look at its most striking.
Reseal natural stone paving every two to three years under normal UK conditions. You can test whether your sealer is still working by dropping a small amount of water on the stone surface. If it beads and runs off, the sealer is still active. If it absorbs into the stone, it is time to reseal. Heavy foot traffic or exposure to harsh weather may shorten the resealing interval.
Apply our Black Spot & Algae Remover directly to the affected areas. Keep the surface wet and allow the product to dwell for at least one hour — do not let it dry out during this time. Scrub with a stiff brush, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. For heavy infestations, a second application with a longer dwell time of two to three hours may be needed. Seal the cleaned stone afterwards to prevent regrowth.
